Pet-Friendly Taxi for Vet, Grooming, Parks & Airport Pet Travel in Chennai

Most regular cabs are reluctant to carry pets, and many drivers aren't comfortable around animals. HJ Cabs' pet-friendly taxi service solves this with drivers who are specifically briefed and experienced with pets: calm, patient, and happy to help load a carrier or crate.

Cats, dogs, and small animals up to 15 kg can travel in the cabin in a secure carrier. Seat protectors and absorbent mats are provided on request at no extra charge, and a small pet-cleaning fee of ₹300 is added to every trip to cover post-trip sanitisation.

For local trips around Chennai, to the vet, groomer, dog park, or pet hotel, fares start from ₹1,100, calculated the same way as a regular local taxi plus the pet-cleaning fee. Travelling to Chennai Airport with your pet, or relocating to another city in Tamil Nadu? HJ Cabs handles both, with the fare quoted upfront on WhatsApp before you book.

Have a larger dog, multiple pets, or a bulky crate? An SUV (₹1000 local base fare, 6 seats) with a ₹500 carrier charge gives you more space. Book via WhatsApp at +91-9042657398, with no advance payment required.

Real operational detail, not marketing copy, so you know exactly what happens before, during, and after the trip:

Before dispatch

When you WhatsApp or call to book, we ask for your pet's type, breed, and approximate weight before a driver is assigned. That's how we match you with a pet-trained driver and the right vehicle (Sedan or SUV) for the trip, rather than sending whichever cab is nearest.

During the trip

Pets travel in a secure carrier or appropriate carrier bag at all times, not loose in the cabin. Seat protectors and absorbent mats are provided on request at no extra charge. The driver keeps the AC steady and drives calmly, avoiding harsh braking or fast turns.

After the trip

A flat pet-cleaning fee of ₹300 covers cabin sanitisation after every pet trip, so the next passenger gets a clean vehicle. This is charged and disclosed upfront in your fare quote, not added as a surprise afterward.

Trip types we actually handle

Routine and emergency vet visits, grooming salon drop-offs, dog parks, pet hotel/boarding runs, Chennai Airport pet travel, and inter-city pet relocation across Tamil Nadu. For larger dogs, multiple pets, or bulky crates, we recommend booking an SUV for the extra space.

Pet-friendly taxi fares are calculated the same way as regular taxi fares, with one addition, a flat pet-cleaning fee:

Local trips (vet, grooming, park, pet hotel) within Chennai

Fare = Local base fare (or actual km × per-km rate, whichever is higher) + ₹300 pet-cleaning fee

• Sedan local base fare: ₹800 for the first 20 km, ₹27/km beyond
• A typical local pet trip (vet, park, or grooming, within 20 km) costs ₹1,100 for a Sedan

Chennai airport pet travel

Calculated the same as a local trip from your home/pickup to the airport, typically ₹1,100 for a Sedan within 20 km, plus the pet-cleaning fee already included above.

Inter-city pet relocation

Fare = (Distance × ₹15/km, 130 km minimum) + ₹500 driver bata + ₹300 pet-cleaning fee

• Example: a 150 km inter-city pet relocation costs ₹3,050 for a Sedan

Large pets, multiple carriers, or crates

An SUV is recommended, with a local base fare of ₹1000, plus a ₹500 carrier charge for bulky crates.

Tolls and parking are charged at actuals with receipts, with no markup.

Round Trips & Waiting
